Rich Township High students developed STEM skills in a fun, creative program
Rich Township High School District 227 wanted to continue to move their programs into the 21st century to ensure they were fully preparing their students for the tech-centered future.
Rich Township identified two goals: to provide students with a hands-on STEM-centered curriculum opportunity and to engage students over the summer with a futuristic program.
High schools in District 227 partnered with Elevate K-12 to develop a math and physics curriculum to give students a working knowledge of all things robot. Then, after working with their live online instructors to gain appropriate background knowledge, the students were prepared to build and use fully functional robots.
Students were able to advance their math and physics knowledge in a fun, creative manner. With technology playing an increasingly large role in students’ lives, the robotics program was an outstanding summer learning experience for the 21st century!
