Union High School students saw a 1.5 times score jump
Union High School, an alternative Design and Construction school, wanted to build a program to address Pre-Algebra skills in freshmen and sophomore students.
They determined two goals: to promote real-life application of skills and success in vocational courses and to build a positive community of math-proficient students, as reflected in state assessment scores.
Union and Elevate K-12 partnered to build a customized plan to target the greatest needs of students that seamlessly integrated with current Pre-Algebra curriculum, both during the school year and over the summer.
Students across Union High saw their Pre-Algebra scores jump 1.5 times. In addition, the number of students achieving proficient scores quadrupled (from 9% to 38%).
